Common Moving Questions
Quick answers to the most frequent questions our customers ask.
1. How far in advance should I book my move?
We recommend booking 1–2 weeks in advance, especially for weekends or the end of the month when demand is highest. Same-day moves may be available depending on our schedule.
2. What’s included in your hourly rate?
Our rates include the movers, equipment, and use of a 12ft box truck (if selected). There are no hidden fees for gas, mileage, or tolls within our local service area.
3. Do you provide other services?
Yes! We also offer furniture assembly and dump or disposal removal to make your move more convenient. Please mention these when booking so we can plan accordingly.
4. Are your movers insured?
MuvMate carries cargo insurance to protect the items we transport for customers. While our movers take great care with your belongings, this coverage provides an extra layer of security during transit.
5. Can I help during the move?
Absolutely! If you’ve booked only one mover, your help may be needed for large or heavy items that require two people to lift safely. For a hands‑free experience, we recommend booking two movers.
6. What items can’t be moved?
For safety reasons, we can’t move hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or live plants during extreme weather. We’ll advise on alternatives if needed.
7. Do you move long distance?
Yes! We handle moves across the entire United States (except Hawaii). Whether local or cross‑country, MuvMate makes it smooth and stress‑free.
8. What if my building has stairs or no elevator?
No problem! Our movers are experienced with walk‑ups and tight spaces. Just mention it when booking so we can plan and bring the right equipment.
9. How do I pay for my move?
We accept cash, credit/debit cards, PayPal, Zelle, Cash App, and Venmo. Payment is due at the end of the job.
10. What’s your cancellation or reschedule policy?
You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your move without penalty. Same‑day cancellations may be subject to a small fee.
